Anyone may purchase a voucher and take the exam. This includes allied health care professionals, medical students, non-medical professionals, and others with less than 1-year of clinical experience in the operating room however, the exam is recommended for licensed physicians (including MD, DO, and MBBS), surgical technicians, and nurses who have at least 1-year of OR experience. Reviewing the FUSE on-line didactic material, paying the CME/Contact hour fee and completing the Accreditation Exam provides up to 12 CME credits/Continuing Education Nursing Contact hours.
The FUSE assessment must be taken at a designated regional Test Center in the U.S., Canada, or at either the SAGES Annual Meeting or ACS Annual Clinical Congress. For a list of current FUSE Test Centers please click here.

U.S. Military Personnel Stationed Overseas: Active U.S. military personnel stationed outside of the United States may take the FUSE assessment in an online proctored (OLP) environment using a computer, webcam, microphone and Kryterion’s Sentinel Secure software.

All test vouchers expire 1-year from the date of purchase and have the expiration date printed directly in the center of the certificate. Tests must be completed by this date as extensions will only be granted in rare and extreme circumstances, and must be requested in writing to the FUSE Program Director and approved by the FUSE Committee Co-Chairs.
